I guess I should put some information about me up here.
I started playing volleyball in my last year of high school (looking for an excuse to avoid study). I got involved in my first year of Uni and was fortunate to play National League that year. Since then I have played 12 seasons of national league (2 gold, 1 silver and 7 4th) for 5 different teams (Sydney Uni, UTS, UTS-Sydney Uni, Canberra Heat and Queensland Pirates). Mixed in the middle of this I was fortunate enough to play at two World University Games in 2009 and 2011.
I started off coaching club and school pretty much as soon as I started playing. I got involved in more serious coaching through State teams and Women’s AVL where I was the assistant coach for UTSSU women’s AVL team which won Gold (2008) and Bronze (2010). In 2010 I went along to my first Volleyball Australia camp as a coach and from there I ended up as Head Coach of the 96/97 Australian Junior Women’s Squad. Since then I have been involved coaching at AVL, as a coach with VA junior and youth, boys and girls, beach and indoor development camps and a number of school and club teams.
As I involved myself in coaching I decided this was the career path I wanted to follow. I completed a Master of Education in Coach Education at University of Sydney (2007-2009) and then moved to Canberra to do a double degrees of Coaching and Exercise Science and the other in Sports Management
When I moved up to Queensland in 2014 I got involved as an assistant coach with the QEDP (Queensland Elite Development Program) and by the end I was given the opportunity to deliver most of the tier 2 and 3 component of the program.
In 2017 I have been appointed as the full time assistant coach with the QAS Volleyball Program.
Hopefully there will be more things to add as time goes on.
